Moodboard - 'Video Style and Genre'

We'll be making a music video that fits into the amplification genre. We want the video to have a strong narrative that links to the lyrics and has the band's performance not be the majority of the shots, and think this is the best genre that that would fit into.

The various scenes and videos in the moodboard playlist are there to show the style that we're actually going for with our video, and in a couple very specific shots that will probably be used. The current idea that we've got for the video is that of a student in a group of friends falling in love and having to leave that group at the end of the video as his family moves away. If we have time or think it will fit in, we'd also add the extra level of it being the memories of an adult looking back on his childhood through things he finds in his cupboard, but really that won't be needed and will just be something we'll be adding at the end if we find the time to do it.

The majority of the videos in the playlist are there to show the position of the band within the narrative but in the background of the story, but there are a couple very specific videos that have a feel to them that we really want to capture in ours - the scenes in Breaking Bad focusing on the inner turmoil of Jesse Pinkman, and the music video for Lindisfarne by James Blake. These videos all include a character suffering emotionally, especially towards the end of the music video, and those final shots of the girl in the vehicle as it moves away in the music video are very similar to what we have in mind for our final shots.

The video for Over My Head by The Fray is also similar in style to ours, in that we haven't decided on the band being a part of the narrative or a seperate set of shots like the Fray's video, in which the majority of the shots are a part of a narrative and the band are shown performing in shots completely seperate from the narrative as far as I can tell.

This Animoto presentation is there to show various pictures of specific shots from the videos in the moodboard list, as well as to portray the general style we're going for both with the band and the video, taking examples from bands and other videos.
