‘We Three Fools’ are an alternative rock band that was founded in February 2002. Their main instruments used throughout their songs are keyboard, guitar and bass, and been quoted in an interview as taking inspiration from the likes of Radiohead, Joanna Newsom and Howlin’ Wolf. When questioned on how exactly their style was shaped by these artists, the lead vocalist William Persky replied “It isn’t so much their style of music that effected us, but the way that their songs make you feel – you really have to have connected to their songs to understand what we’re getting at”.
On the 7th May 2004, the band released their first album ‘One Long Road Trip’ to limited success, acquiring a fairly small fanbase that encouraged them to work harder on their following album. Originally planned for a release some time in 2006, their next album was instead pushed back to 2008 for them to have more time to work on it.
Throughout 2007, the band toured throughout Europe, playing fan favourite songs from their first album as well as several redone versions of their songs that fans speculated were a mixture of their old songs and their new songs.
On it’s release on 12th September 2008, ‘Men In High Seats’ finally reached mainstream success, having three of it’s songs in the top 10 of the charts for 7 months, and five others staying firmly within the top 100. The previous speculation on the music they played in their tour was proven to be right, with a second CD previously not mentioned being included with the album that included all the songs that were heard and a couple others.
In September 2009, ‘We Three Fools’ announced their next album, ‘Golden Days Are Over’, to be released in January 2012, with a planned music video for one of the songs on the album (‘Lippy Kids’) to be released a couple months before it. They also announced plans to again include a second disk with similar content to the one included in their second album, this time with a complete list of song mashups that noone will have heard before.
